Water Baths, Circulators & Chillers

The water baths consist of a tank made of stainless material, which has in its bottom a set of electrical resistors, by which heat is transferred to the water, which is maintained at a preselected temperature through a thermostat, thermostat, thermistor or similar control device, which allows selecting the temperature required to perform the various analyzes or laboratory tests.

All water baths currently have an analog or digital interface, which allows users to adjust the desired temperature. As for the resistances of water baths, these can be of two types:

  • Immersion. These are usually installed inside a sealed tube and located at the bottom of the container and are in direct contact with the medium to be heated.
  • External: This type of resistors transfers heat to the bottom of the tank by means of thermal conduction. They are located at the bottom, but are external to the tank; they are protected by an insulating material to prevent heat loss.

Types of Water Baths that a Laboratory may need

Heating Bath Circulator

The HC series heating circulating bath provides an ambient temperature of 100℃, 200℃, and can be customized to 300 degrees of liquid environment at constant temperature, used for electronic component testing, chemical synthesis temperature control, etc.

Characteristics

  • PID temperature control
  • Excessive temperature alarm
  • low water level alarm
  • optional internal and external circulation
  • The tank is made of 304 stainless steel

Thermostatic Magnetic Stirring Bath

Can be used as a water bath or oil bath. Strong magnetic stirrer built into the bath.

  • 304 stainless steel heater.
  • The magnetic stirring system makes the stirrer rotate synchronously, so that the solution in the bath can be heated and stirred evenly.
  • The brushless DC motor ensures stable performance and continuous operation.
  • The high temperature magnet can work continuously at 300 ℃ without losing magnetism.

Water Baths in operation

Before starting to use the water bath, it should be checked that it is clean and that the accessories to be used are installed. And then, you usually proceed with the following steps:

  • Fill the bath with the water to be used to keep the temperature uniform. Verify that, once the containers to be heated are placed, the level of the tank is between 4 and 5 cm from the top edge of the tank.
  • Install control instruments, such as thermometers and shakers, when required. Check the position of the bulb of the thermometer or the heat probe, to ensure that the readings are correct.
  • Check that the water being used is highly clean.
  • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
