Electrophoresis

Electrophoresis consists of a technique that allows the separation of biomolecules according to their mobility and nature in an electric field on a porous matrix, it is one of the most widely used molecular biology techniques in the laboratory. Because through electrophoresis we can separate DNA and RNA fragments according to their size, visualize them by a simple stain, and thus determine the content of nucleic acids of a sample, being able to have an estimate of their concentration.

Today, the electrophoresis technique, with its different modifications and supplements, is used daily to separate protein molecules and nucleic acids and is complemented by a wide variety of modern instruments that have increased their precision in the separation of these biomolecules, facilitating their handling.

Types of Laboratory Electrophoresis a Laboratory May Need

Horizontal

The horizontal gel electrophoresis units YR have been designed by scientists with the laboratory environment in mind. Our YR horizontal electrophoresis tanks provide a flexible and easy-to-use platform for all your horizontal electrophoresis requirements. With a wide range of tank and tray sizes, as well as many comb options, these systems can handle all kinds of electrophoresis experiments. Our YR series of horizontal gel units offers the most versatile solution for DNA and RNA agarose gel electrophoresis currently on the market. These models offer an unbeatable combination of gel volume and buffer, with versatility of gel size and sample number.

Features
  • The abundant buffer not only guarantees the cooling effects, but also keeps the pH value stable throughout the experiment process.
  • Deployed electrodes make repairing and replacing parts easier and faster.
  • With the swatch background color layout in the tray, it is convenient to add the swatch.

Vertical

Vertical gel electrophoresis is a more complex configuration compared to the horizontal gel system. Researchers typically use this system to separate proteins rather than nucleic acids. However, before separating the proteins, you must break the quaternary structure of the proteins in the linear strand.

Features
  • Aimed at the purification and analysis of proteins, ideal for dimensional electrophoresis, DGGE and preparation gel electrophoresis.
  • Equipped with special processing technology aluminum plates, it effectively ensured heat dissipation more evenly, maintaining a stable pH during electrophoresis operation.
  • Influence of the electric field of non-proliferation, guaranteed the clearest and straightest electrophoresis strip. Dual-core hinged modular cassettes, combined with the base gel wheel, ensuring that the entire operation process is more convenient.
