Ph Meters
It is a scientific instrument that measures the activity of the hydrogen ion in aqueous solutions, indicating its degree of acidity or alkalinity expressed as pH. The pH meter measures the difference in electrical potential between a pH electrode and a reference electrode. This difference in electrical potential is related to the acidity or pH of the solution. The pH meter is used in many applications ranging from laboratory experimentation to quality control.
There are general maintenance techniques for pH meters, but in many cases each brand and each model has its own care. We will have to follow the instructions of the meter manufacturer to be able to enjoy it for a longer time.
Types of pH meters a laboratory may need
Industrial pH controller
A pH or pH value is one of the most commonly used pieces of equipment in a laboratory. It is used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a solution and the information it provides expresses the degree of acidity of an acid or base in terms of hydrogen ion activity, so that by using this equipment we can know the type of substance we are analysing, as well as the type of treatment that should be given to it.
The pH meter generally consists of an amplifier and two electrodes, a pH measurement electrode and a reference electrode. The reference electrode has a known, constant and stable potential. The pH electrode is a glass ampoule sensitive to hydrogen ions, with an output in millivolts that varies according to variations in the relative concentration of hydrogen ions inside and outside the ampoule. The output of the reference electrode does not change with hydrogen ion activity.
Table pH Meters
A pH meter is an instrument used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. The information provided by this equipment expresses the degree of acidity of an acid or base in terms of the activity of hydrogen ions. The pH is the unit of measurement that describes the degree of acidity or alkalinity and is measured on a scale from 0 to 14.
An approximate indication of pH can be obtained using pH markers or ribbons, which change color depending on the variation of the pH level, but these markers have limitations in terms of accuracy and can be difficult to interpret correctly in dark or colorful samples, and this error can be corrected widely through the use of pH meter.
